F&M Trust donates $6,000 to support Totem Pole Playhouse

January 25, 2024

F&M Trust recently donated $6,000 to sponsor “Tuesdays with Morrie,” one of five productions during the 2024 summer series at Totem Pole Playhouse.

The play, based on the 1997 New York Times bestseller by Mitch Albom, is the autobiographical story of an accomplished sports journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor who is battling ALS. The production runs from July 12 to 21.

“F&M Trust has been so very generous with their show sponsorships over the years. Donations like this allow us to bring live theater to the region at an affordable price,” Artistic Director David Hemsley Caldwell said. “We literally couldn’t do it without the support of local businesses like F&M Trust who allow us to continue the traditions of the Playhouse.”F&M Trust employees present a large check to Totem Pole Playhouse employees outside the playhouse box office.

Other productions during the 2024 summer season at the theater in Caledonia State Park are “Pump Boys and Dinettes,” “Clue: On Stage,” “Jersey Boys,” and the concert series “Music in the Pines.”

“Community theater brings joy to what can sometimes be a heavy world,” F&M Trust President and CEO Tim Henry said. “For years, Totem Pole Playhouse has provided quality entertainment for area residents and for others who travel many miles to see these productions. F&M Trust is proud to continue its support of this local treasure.”

In 2023, F&M Trust sponsored the performance of “Annie.”
